FISH FOR THE FUTURE.

Farm fish directly from Filipino farmers. Our core starts in our hatchery – born from a simple idea of sustainable fish farming that nurtures a subconscious value that we eat fish without destroying the environment.

Our vision is no longer to produce the world’s most sustainable fish – because we already do! Our vital role is to provide a sustainable alternative that makes regular consumers choose our farm fish without sabotaging their budget.

A down-to-earth fish – how do we explain a “down-to-earth” fish? It’s by producing a farm fish that solves a basic environmental problem. We minimize the environmental impact resulting from wild catch and over-fishing. Our farm fish provides a solution to food security, sustainability, and economic growth – and it also provides a more tasty white meat alternative to our tables.

By breeding and producing our own strain of Red Tilapia, we, at Brackish Inc., eradicated the off-flavor and muddy/soil taste reputation of regular tilapias. We ensure a healthy environment for our farm fish resulting in a clean taste and exquisite flavors similar to expensive alternatives, such as cod and perch.

THE HATCHERY

Our farm fish are raised using a state-of-the-art Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) technology – our RAS ensures the highest water quality for our broodstocks and fry. We are able to achieve a 216:48,000 broodstock to fry ratio per week, resulting in an exceptional high hatching and survival rate.

POND OPERATIONS

To maintain our ponds’ optimum ecosystem, we ensure that Air Lifts aerate our brackish waters continuously to increase dissolved oxygen, resulting in good bacteria (also nutrifiers) to thrive and avoid diseases.

Brackish Inc. is among the few (1 of the 3) in the Philippines to use Air Lift in their ponds. Upon using Air Lift, we maintained an 8.2mg/l dissolved oxygen – providing the best and ideal conditions for our farm fish to grow.
